Dancing Chromatic Colors

Pink & Blue. The sky shimmers in evening attire.
Glorious streaks of orange breaking through.
Fingers pointing to the horizon.
An orchestra begins to play.
Night’s dance begins.
Emotions churn.
Black & White. Sky & Moon.
Sighs of delight fill the air.
Words better left unsaid.
Eyes close. Senses open.
Do you remember that night?
Crashing waves on a moonlit shore.
Yellow & Red. The morning awakes.
The dance is done.
Light fills the world once more.
Hands reaching out - we part.
Warmth lingers. Promises fade.
Once we were wild & free.
We were the ocean. We were the night.
We wore our colors well.

I Am November
Summer goes by all too quickly ...
both in days and in years
I am November

Everything has changed
Nothing is the same
and life goes on ...

March & April have no concern
for winter frost
as they frolic in the sun

Flowers bloom in summer’s warmth
Bird songs serenade
unaware of autumn

Everything has changed
Nothing is the same
and life goes on ...

Shorter days and shorter years
approach with every breath

Life continues to dream & plan

Time is a cruel master -
oblivion even crueler
Living each day as if they last forever

Everything has changed
Nothing is the same
and life goes on ...

Winter calls to me
I am not ready to leave
Alas, I am November
there is nothing left to sing

Abstract words &
obtuse verse
make up the life I live.
Regret follows me like a stray cat
hungering for food.
The unfairness of life
while picking through squalor /
decadence dines on flesh
Luxury wins the race.
The sand is wet.
Cold water washes over my feet.
I dig for an oyster.
I find only shell.
No meat to sustain me /
no pearl to enrich me.
I am empty again.
My words cannot sing out /
where no song has been sung /
no tune has been played.
Bare bones and exposed flesh.
There is only silence
to fill the hunger within.
